About the opportunity

Primary Purpose of the Position

A new regional community association has been established for the Omeo Region / High Country area in Victoria, called ‘Our Community, Our Voice (OCOV)’. The association’s purpose is to take action to create their own future and better the environment for the wellbeing of the region. This assignment is to work closely with the newly formed committee to undertake a strategic/action plan with an agreed set of values and KPI’s to reflect and review. This organisation would also like some assistance with surveying the wider community to ensure that community needs and expectations are incorporated.

The tasks and deliverables of this Assignment are:

• Desktop research on similar businesses or aligned business models

• Design of research surveys to solicit community views

• Develop a comprehensive strategic plan, supported by an action plan, that aligns with what the community group wants to achieve

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

• Ability to communicate complex issues in a practical way

• Tactful interpersonal skills and astute relationship management, including group facilitation experience

• Business and strategic planning expertise, and translating that into concrete actions

Desirable:

• Trauma informed engagement

• Understanding the complexities of small rural communities

• Understanding of regional/rural issues affecting small communities

Please note, if you are interested in applying for the role, we will require you to meet the following criteria:

  • 5 years professional experience in the relevant field
  • Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Australia. Australian Citizens residing overseas may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check
  • Willingness to complete a Working with Children Check
