Jifunze International is an Australian registered NFP organisation working in Kenya. We provide learning opportunities to improve community health and safety, education and career opportunities, and skills to enable project participants to share knowledge with peers. The secretary works to support the manager and board members mostly based in Kenya. Ability to work remotely online is a requirement.

Volunteer Qualities

The ideal volunteer will be someone who cares deeply about international volunteering and supporting the team on the ground in Kenya. They will have values which align with the values and mission of Jifunze International.

Previous experience in secretarial duties

Tasks

The role is required to support the smooth running of Jifunze International coordinating the admin duties and working closely with the CEO to ensure that the business activities in Australia and Kenya are completed as required.

The role also includes meeting preparation, minute taking, filing. The successful person will need to communicate with ACNC and ASIC 1 to 2 times per year, other admin duties as requested by the CEO e.g., preparing short reports and sharing information between team members

Experience

The volunteer will gain great insight and knowledge about the difference Jifunze International is making in the lives of so many people living in poverty. They will learn from the education programs Jifunze delivers and build a skill set which will make them familiar with Kenyan and Australian law in relation to running an international charity. They will work alongside the Kenya board members and experience the Kenya culture through so much of the programs we deliver
