Volunteers gain satisfaction from providing hands-on assistance with various activities groups and social gatherings held in public housing estates in inner Sydney. Activities include walking groups, exercise classes, cooking sessions, arts and crafts groups and Bingo. Groups are held on different days and times, so Volunteers have a choice of which activity they choose to attend. The gatherings are organised and attended by staff, but volunteers can have a key role in running the activities if interested. Providing one on one social support is a priority, as well as facilitating communication within the group.
