Experienced Arts Accountant

Role Summary:
VEAEA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented volunteer Arts Accountant to provide essential financial management support. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of a dynamic arts organization and make a real difference in the lives of electronic music artists.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of sound financial policies and procedures. Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable. Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., Xero). Assist with the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and grant acquittals. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, particularly those related to Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Provide financial advice and support to the VEAEA board and team. Contribute to the financial planning and sustainability of the organization. Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A passion for the arts and a commitment to VEAEA's mission. Desirable:
Experience in non-profit accounting. Knowledge of DGR requirements. Experience with grant accounting. Benefits:
