ABOUT FOR WILD PLACES For Wild Places is an Australian Not For Profit that exists to inspire and connect outdoor communities to care for our wild places.
Since 2020, we have put out a weekly newsletter every Friday. This consistent output has supported the growth of For Wild Places through connecting to the community, raising awareness about people, places and campaigns, and sharing FWP’s vision and events. The Newsletter currently goes out to approximately 1300 people each week, with an average open rate of 60%.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Compile, edit and schedule the FWP Newsletter each week

Engage with people within the community to contribute to the newsletter

Conduct interviews and Q&As with interesting, inspiring people

Bring new ideas and concepts to the newsletter

Compile the newsletter in MailChimp and schedule sending

Create the adjacent communication materials (via Canva) to share the newsletter on other FWP platforms (including social media, website and LinkedIn)

Collaborate with the broader FWP team to brainstorm content ideas

Tell compelling stories that speak to an intersectional audience and that celebrates trail running and outdoors culture

Platform people and campaigns, raising awareness and directions actions
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience or an interest in writing, storytelling and campaigning

Strong attention to detail: You cringe at typos and are careful to write copy that fits within brand guidelines

Nice to have: Passion for trail running, outdoor adventure and environmental advocacy

Ability to take content ideas from concept through to implementation

Highly collaborative: FWP is very cross-functional, so you should genuinely enjoy collaborating on projects

Fast execution: You have a bias for action and a preference to get things done
