The Queensland Wattle Association (QWA), a not-for-profit, community organisation is seeking a Secretary on a voluntary basis. We seek someone who is interested in being part of the organisation that aims to promote across Queensland (and Australia) the celebration of wattle when wattles are blooming in Queensland and to provide related activities. We also promote the celebration of Australia’s National Floral Emblem, the Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha), and National Wattle Day on 1 September each year. The duties of the Secretary include keeping of minutes of all meetings, attending to constitutional and legislative compliance requirements, maintaining member records, etc. The time commitment will include attending monthly meetings, recording minutes and attendance to compliance requirements which estimate will take 3 to 5 hours per month.
The QWA is still in set up phase with a website, social media, etc still under construction.
