Hey Mate is seeking a volunteer web designer to help us revamp our website, making it more engaging, accessible, and aligned with our mission to support the mental health and wellbeing of creatives and arts organizations across Australia. 🔹 About Hey Mate

Hey Mate is a People and Planet First Verified social enterprise dedicated to providing mental health and wellbeing support to creatives. We work with artists, arts organizations, and communities, ensuring they have access to counselling, mental health resources, and industry-specific wellbeing programs.

Our work has made a significant impact on the creative industries by providing support to those who often face burnout, financial instability, and mental health challenges. A well-designed website will allow us to reach more people, provide easier access to resources, and communicate our mission effectively. 🔹 Key Responsibilities

As a volunteer web designer, you will: ✅ Redesign our website to be visually engaging, user-friendly, and easy to navigate ✅ Improve accessibility to ensure inclusivity for all users ✅ Update and organize content, ensuring it reflects our mission and services ✅ Optimize website performance, including mobile responsiveness and load speed ✅ Collaborate with our team, incorporating feedback and refining the design ✅ Ensure SEO best practices are implemented to increase visibility 🔹 Skills & Experience Needed

We’re looking for someone who has: 🎨 Experience in website design and development (WordPress, Squarespace, Webflow, or similar) 🎨 A solid understanding of UX/UI principles to enhance user experience 🎨 Basic knowledge of SEO and website optimization (preferred but not required) 🎨 Strong design skills and a passion for creating accessible and engaging websites 🎨 The ability to work independently and meet deadlines while collaborating remotely 🔹 Time Commitment

We estimate this project will take 10–15 hours in total, spread over 4–6 weeks.

Flexible scheduling (2–3 hours per week) One or two short check-in meetings with our team Project completion by end of April
