Armchair Travel Volunteer (story telling), Residential Aged Care, Cardiff NSW

Bring the world to the residents through story telling!
Come join our residents in the comfort of a cottage lounge room to share your stories of culture, travel, food and more. We are seeking story tellers to with engage with residents, encourage conversation and maybe even take a walk down memory lane as they sit in the comfort of an armchair.
Armchair travel sessions use photos, music, videos and storytelling to encourage discussions and reminisce. The ability to use basic technology, such as a laptop or projector to show videos and slideshows (onsite staff can assist). Willingness to commit to up to an 1 hour per visit , at a time that suits you.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
