Bethanie Dalyellup, Fields and Elanora Aged Care Homes are seeking volunteers to become social companions to our residents, visiting with individual residents on a one on one basis.

#In this valued role you will:
*Engage in one-to-one conversations with a resident *Engage them in unstructured recreational activities and support the resident's participation in group activities. *Provide companionship for residents who may not have friends or family close by and who may be reluctant to join in group activities.
*Make a meaningful difference by supporting our staff in providing engagement and companionship with our residents.
*Through ongoing visits, establish wonderful new friendships with residents, as well as the staff and volunteer team

Having the opportunity to reminisce alongside others also provides a significant boost to residents' sense of social connectedness.

Your support may include reading to the resident, going for walks, reminiscing, gardening or any other number of things that the resident may be interested in.

You will be guided in your role by the site's Therapy team, and Bethanie's Volunteer Services team also provide ongoing support.
