About the opportunity
Primary Purpose of the Position
The Cann River Community Centre is primarily funded under the state government Neighbourhood House program. As well as operating as a Neighbourhood House, the Centre further
• Operates the Visitor Information Centre
• Is a Centrelink Remote Agent
• Site for the Shire Library service
• Operates a Foodbank
• An Op Shop
• Parent run playgroup.
The Centre has also recently been funded to run a training café through the Fire to Flourish project – though this is subject to a separate business plan and is not
The tasks and deliverables of this Assignment are:
In consultation with the Community Centre Coordinator and Management Committee, provide:

A workable Strategic Plan for the next 3 years that includes financial mapping of allocation of required resources

A 12-month operational plan that includes:
o Calendar of events
o An evaluation plan
o An approach for broadly engaging the community (Potential to change depending on conversations with the volunteer, ABV and community partner)
Selection Criteria:
Essential
• Experience in developing strategic or operational plans
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Stakeholder management and facilitation experience that prioritise inclusion of all voices
• Strong understanding of community services and engagement, partnerships, and funding body engagement
Desirable
• Knowledge of the Neighbourhood House Coordination program in VIC would be desirable
• Experience (professional or personal) of a small rural context • Working experience within the non-profit sector

- 5 years professional experience in the relevant field
- Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Australia. Australian Citizens residing overseas may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Willingness to complete a National Police Check
- Willingness to complete a Working with Children Check
