Opening Session Coordinator
Our toy library has doubled its membership in the last year and we would like to expand our team so that the Sunbury Toy Libary is able to continue to grow in value and accessibility. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit a variety of skill-sets. Our current volunteers are a great team of local individuals who enjoy the social connection and sense of purpose in being able to help Sunbury children access play.
We are looking for volunteers to run our opening sessions
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Setting up for the open session
- Locating toys that have been put on hold
- Returning toys (checking toys are clean and are in good condition upon before putting toys away in their correct location)
- Helping members with any questions or offering toy suggestions
- Checking out toys via our online database
- Closing the library at the end of the shift and ensuring it is left in a tidy manner
- Work independently or alongside other volunteers, delegating tasks as necessary
- Completing other tasks as required: e.g. signing up new members, cataloging toys when sessions are quiet

- Good communicator and enjoy working with others
- Computer skills
Many of our volunteers bring their children into our opening sessions, and yours are welcome too. We certainly have the toys to keep them occupied!
As part of our childsafe policy all volunteers are required to have a valid WWWC and fill out our volunteer intake forms.
