Social Support Volunteers needed Aged Care Home, Wahroonga

Volunteers required to visit older men and women living in a residential aged care home in Wahroonga for social support and friendship on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
As part of the federally funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme; compassionate, caring and friendly volunteers can make a great difference to the wellbeing of older people by visiting and providing social support in an aged care home.
It is purely about social interaction, connection and conversation so as to provide some joy and pleasure in the life of these elderly people. A commitment of at least 1 hour a fortnight is needed on an ongoing basis so a rapport and trust can be developed between the volunteer and their older friend.
The role requires once a week/fortnight visit. Individuals who are willing to give a little bit of their time in conversation, who are reliable, patient and compassionate, and have a positive attitude for life are encouraged to apply.
