Mens Group Facilitator

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Kew Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging volunteer to lead our Intergenerational Discussion Group, a vibrant space where people of all ages come together to discuss sports, current affairs, and more. The facilitator will guide discussions, encourage participation, and foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly discussions on a range of topics, including sports, current affairs, and community interests.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants of all ages.
- Encourage meaningful intergenerational conversations and active participation.
- Organise and set up sessions, including arranging seating, TV screenings of sports events (live or recorded), and refreshments.
- Ensure discussions remain respectful and engaging for all participants.
- Adapt discussion topics based on group interests and current events.
- Liaise with program coordinators to provide feedback and suggest improvements.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- A passion for sports, current affairs, and community engagement.
- Ability to engage and connect with individuals across different age groups.
- Friendly, approachable, and adaptable.
