Pet Therapy Volunteers, Residential Aged Care, Nowra NSW [ACVVS]

Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team!
Bring along your good natured pet and spend time chatting with people who may be frail and elderly at a residential aged care home in Nowra. You’ll see what a difference your furry friend can make.
As you're bringing your pet into a care environment with frail and elderly residents or patients, we ask that your pet is:
- Calm and gentle in nature
- Up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas
- Nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cut nails can be sharp if not filed down.
- Dogs should be kept on a lead always.
This role will suit you if you have a small-medium sized pet and you're happy to just to sit and not necessarily talk all the time.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
HammondCare
