Seniors - General Duties Assistant

The Day Club is a welcoming, social haven for a lovely group of older people who gather once a week for friendship, gentle activities, and lively conversation. Held at the local community hall, the club offers a relaxed and supportive environment for seniors who may not be able to participate in more active community programs. The members are independent, intelligent, and full of stories—making this a truly rewarding volunteer opportunity for someone who enjoys meaningful connection.
We're looking for a mature, friendly, and reliable volunteer to help with a range of tasks that keep the day running smoothly. This includes setting up the room, laying and clearing tables for morning tea and lunch, and generally lending a hand with light activities such as word games and social raffles. You’ll be working alongside other volunteers, supporting the group while sharing a few laughs and enjoying the warm, community spirit of the club.
Occasionally, you may also be asked to assist as a “bus host”—helping our members on and off the mini-bus safely and ensuring they feel comfortable during their journey to and from the venue. It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference, offering reassurance and a friendly face to start and end the day.
If you enjoy good company, lighthearted fun, and making a genuine difference in the lives of older people, this role is a wonderful way to give back to your community. Join us and be part of something special each week.
***To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. You will be contacted soon to arrange a mutually convenient time and place. ***
