ABOUT YUNG PRODIGY Yung Prodigy is a youth-led organisation founded on lived experience. We support youngpeople impacted by parental incarceration—an often-overlooked issue affecting 40,000+ young people in Australia. Our mission is to break cycles of systemic disadvantage through research, advocacy, education, mentorship, and nourishment.
COMMUNICATIONS LEAD (VOLUNTEER) We are looking for a proactive and creative individual to lead Yung Prodigy’s communications and grow our reach through digital engagement, media, and advocacy.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Manage social media and online community-building.

Create content for newsletters, website, and awareness campaigns.

Draft publications, submissions, and public statements.

Handle media requests and build partnerships.

Explore new communication strategies to amplify our impact.
WHO YOU ARE

Passionate about human rights, social justice, and grassroots advocacy.

Skilled in communication, digital engagement, or storytelling.

Creative, proactive, and organized with strong time management.

Experience in the justice sector or a lived connection is a plus.

Committed to trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches.
TIME & LOCATION
- Commitment: 5-10 hours per week.
- Work arrangement: Remote, with optional office space in Sydney.
