About CCI
Community Childcare Inc (CCI) is a medium sized charitable organisation that has been working to improve educational and care outcomes for Children, Families, and our Community since 1981. Initially formed by a group of like-minded parents looking for affordable childcare in Wynnum the organisation has become a steward of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) within the Eastern Suburbs of Brisbane and is actively expanding. The committee represents two businesses interests; Children at Bay Terrace and Wynnum Family Daycare. Across both services, CCI provides ECEC services for nearly 500 children, 400 families, 30 staff, and 45+ family daycare educators.
CCI is a registered charity through ACNC; applicants should take their own due diligence to review the governing documents and financials via the ACNC website.
The board executive structure is made up of four members: Chair (Person with management control), Treasurer, Secretary (PMC), and Vice Chair.

The CCI Board
The CCI board, playing a crucial role in ensuring strategic and governance oversight for the organisation. Board meetings are held virtually via zoom and typically run for 1 to 1 1/2 hours long every second month. Occasionally, face-to-face meetings such as the AGM, are held in Wynnum. Depending on the Board role, most require 1- 2 hours work outside of a meeting, reviewing the management report and monthly financial documents (profit and loss / balance sheet). Only the Chair and Secretary has a requirement to check, review, and forward incoming correspondence from Government and Regulatory Bodies to the Leadership team on a bi-weekly basis.
The following responsibilities apply to each of our Board members:
- Positively contributing to the strategy of CCI's businesses
- Monitoring the progress and performance of CCI's businesses against the strategy and measures for success.
- Providing advice relevant to your area of expertise
- Disclosing any conflicts of interest if or when they may arise
- Ensuring the financial wellbeing of CCI's interests are managed responsibly
- Acting with due care and diligence
- Overseeing processes to comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements (ACNC, National Laws and Regulations - Childcare)
- Meeting attendance and participation
- Implementing strategies to future proof CCI
About You
CCI is in a position to bring new strategy, and strong governance practices to the board. Refinements to the constitution and a new board charter, have positively set the CCI Board up for ongoing success. We are particularly interested in people who have a genuine passion for improving educational outcomes for children and young people and making a positive impact for communities. Ideally, you will have some board or committee experience, as well as expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Good governance
- Risk / Compliance/Legal
- Financial / Banking Services
- Marketing / Advertising
- Educational / Community Services
All committee positions are a volunteer role for a fixed term of two years.
