Bookkeeper

You will be working closely with our Principal and our Treasurer who is a qualified accountant, as part of a supportive and inclusive board.
DUTIES
Your duties include:
- Accounts Management – Administer accounts receivable & payable, perform reconciliations, and manage the month-end cycle to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Payroll & Leave Management – Administer payroll and manage leave using Xero, ensuring timely and precise processing.
- BAS Lodgements – Handle Business Activity Statements (BAS) to maintain compliance and efficiency.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Formal qualifications and/or an understanding and knowledge of bookkeeping.
- Ability to assist in the management of the finances of a small organisation
- Proficiency with accounting software and the ability to use Xero
- Demonstrated experience of working as a part of a team to deliver results.
- Ability to work with Gmail and Google Drive and a range of software including Zoom, and other Office software.
DESIRABLE SKILLS , EXPERIENCE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- High level communication skills
- Experience in a treasurer role or similar
- Experience in environmental advocacy or activities
