Role Overview: In this role you will be part of the national event management team that will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing GovHack events to ensure a smooth and engaging experience for participants, sponsors and stakeholders. This position is ideal for those with experience in event planning, project management or logistics, or for anyone looking to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. The event team will also coordinate and direct other teams to successfully deliver GovHack events both nationally and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to event volunteers.
  • Oversee end-to-end event planning, including logistics, scheduling and execution.
  • Manage event logistics, coordinating with venues, suppliers and partners to meet all event requirements.
  • Develop, manage and monitor the event budget.
  • Create detailed event timelines, schedules and checklists.
  • Coordinate with national and regional teams to ensure consistency across locations.
  • Conduct regular cadence meetings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any event-related challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, legal and Work, Health and Safety regulations.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • A certificate in project management is highly preferred.
  • Past event management experience is highly regarded.
  • A diploma or equivalent certificate in event management.
  • Experience using various project management tools.
