As a Plant Nursery Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in our mission to provide essential services to Central Coast families. Since 1962, we've been making a difference in our community, and our Plant Nursery is at the heart of this work.

We're looking for gardening enthusiasts who can help us assess, sort, and display our ever-changing collection of plants, seedlings, and gardening materials, ensuring they find new homes at fair market value. Your contribution will directly support our disability services while promoting sustainable gardening in our community. Key Duties:

Sort and evaluate donated plants, pots, and materials for health and usability - Price items according to our Fair Price Promise guidelines and current market values - Identify speciality plants and premium varieties - Create inspiring displays that showcase plants and garden design possibilities - Maintain organised and tidy nursery presentation with clear categorisation - Monitor stock levels and rotate seasonal plants regularly - Assist customers with queries about plants and basic gardening advice - Handle and store delicate plants appropriately (seedlings, rare specimens, etc.)

Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of various plants, gardening, and horticultural materials - Good eye for plant health and ability to assess specimen condition - Understanding of different plant types and gardening supplies - Physical ability to handle potted plants and garden supply boxes safely - Organised approach to sorting and categorising plants - Customer service skills and friendly demeanour - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Previous gardening, nursery, or retail experience beneficial but not required - Must be reliable and able to commit to regular shifts
