Health Voyage is seeking a skilled, passionate and committed individual to join our team as a Volunteer Board Director.
About the role: Health Voyage Board Directors work collaboratively with fellow Board Members and Health Voyage Executive Management to ensure Health Voyage fulfills its charitable purpose. They are responsible for the strategic direction of Health Voyage, providing overall governance and overseeing both performance and compliance in accordance with Health Voyage’s purpose and objectives. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Corporate governance • Strategic planning and direction • Executive management • Financial oversight • Risk management and compliance • Continuous improvement
Expectations: • a time commitment of approx 10 hours per month, including preparation for board meetings, attendance in person at board meetings held in Coffs Harbour, committee work, and special events. • To undertake a Director term of ideally three years, however Directors are encouraged to commit to the Board for a minimum of two years (there is a maximum of three consecutive terms) • Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required.

About you: Our new Board Director will be seeking to gain experience in nonprofit governance and leadership. They will have great communication skills and a genuine interest in and knowledge of nonprofit governance and regulatory requirements. We are seeking supportive and respectful individuals who have knowledge and experience of:
• women’s health and service delivery within a feminist framework and commitment to the advancement of women’s health, education and status, and • Knowledge and experience of young people and the delivery of services within the headspace framework.
Previous experience in nonprofit management will be highly regarded, along with a willingness to commit time and resources to the organisation, including attending regular board meetings.
