Position Focus:

Tutors provide tuition to individuals or small groups of primary school aged students, focusing on literacy, numeracy and helping students to complete homework and assignments.

Duties:

• Tutoring of students as needed, either one-to-one or within small groups
• Assisting with maintaining records of attendance, tutorial sessions and monitoring student progress over time
• Liaising with parents as needed
• Assist with collecting information for student and parent surveys

Skills, experience, attributes and requirements:

• An understanding of, and empathy with, people from diverse backgrounds
• Willingness and capacity to work as part of a team
• Good communication skills and competency in English
• The successful completion of a Working with Children Check
• Two successful referee checks
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviour when engaging with children.
• Able to commit to one evening session per week for a minimum of six months
