Creative Bytes is a registered charity that provides free STEM coding classes to students across Australia. The initiative focuses on teaching programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy through interactive, game-based learning. It primarily serves students aged 9-13, with a strong emphasis on supporting First Nations communities and socially disadvantaged youth. The program has demonstrated significant improvements in students' understanding of STEM concepts, particularly in mathematics and programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a step-by-step Scratch coding curriculum suitable for beginners and intermediate learners.
- Ensure lesson plans align with STEM and digital literacy objectives as discussed with the co-founders
- Create clear instructional materials, including worksheets, slides, and guides.
- Collaborate with the Creative Bytes team to refine and test curriculum effectiveness.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Scratch programming and familiarity with block-based coding.
- Experience in STEM education, curriculum development, or instructional design (preferred but not required).
- Strong ability to explain coding concepts clearly to young learners.
- Creativity in designing engaging and interactive coding lessons.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
