Volunteer Leaders Program – Environmental Conservation Work Experience
Are you a young adult passionate about the environment? Greater Sydney Landcare’s Wildventure group is seeking motivated Volunteer Leaders to help us plan, support, and deliver fun, impactful environmental conservation events. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on work experience, develop leadership skills, and make meaningful contributions to restoring Sydney’s natural environment.
**Key Duties ** As a Volunteer Leader, you will:
- Event Support: Assist with planning and facilitating Wildventure events, including tree planting, clean-ups, citizen science, nature hikes, and more.
- Environmental Restoration: Participate in hands-on conservation activities like removing invasive weeds, planting native trees, and revitalizing ecosystems.
- Community Engagement: Represent Landcare at stalls, workshops, and community gatherings, educating the public on environmental issues and inspiring action.
- Event Management Volunteer Leaders with have the opportunity help support and lead fun environmentally focused events for young people which can range from hiking, restoration, nature retreats and campouts, clean ups and more.
- Leadership Development: Work alongside like-minded individuals to coordinate and lead small teams, ensuring events run smoothly.
Skills and Experience*

- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A willingness to learn and engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
- No prior experience is required—just enthusiasm and a commitment to making a difference! We'll provide any necessary training for this role.
Location Event locations occur across Greater Sydney, with Volunteers Leaders able to pick and choose to work at certain events closer to home, as well as flexibility in terms of shifts they would like to to take up.

Wildventure is a Greater Sydney Landcare initiative created in 2024 to connect young adults with nature through engaging, flexible, and impactful conservation events. Greater Sydney Landcare, a not-for-profit organisation, has been restoring Sydney’s environment since 2014, empowering communities to care for their local landscapes through .
