Social Media Coordinator

The Social Media Officer will be responsible for Broadbeach United Soccer Club's social media strategy which will promote the club's goals and objectives whilst building an online audience through engaging content. The key objectives of the social media strategy will include:
- Build the club's audience on social media of people who genuinely follow and have an interest in your club.
- Build a sense of belonging between our club and its (social media) supporters and followers.
- Support the achievement of club goals and objectives.
- Relay important “operational” information to relevant people within the club. Key Responsibilities include:
- Create the club's social media strategy
- Create a social media calendar that will outline content, platforms, timing, and frequency.
- Actively update the club’s different social media platforms throughout the week during the season (updating followers on scores, results, injuries, achievements milestones) as per the social media calendar
- Promote the club’s key activities and events throughout the year,
- Promote and support our sponsors
- Facilitate social media participation and engagement with club stakeholders
- Actively engaging followers to transform visitors into advocates for the club (creating a sense of belonging between the club and each individual)
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- A frequent user of social media sites
- Planning and organisation skills
- Ability to engage people through social media without getting drawn into negative or personal discussions.
- Respectful and effective communication with an ability to interact professionally and positively with fans, players, and parents.
- High attention to written English spelling and grammar
- Understanding how to create memes, photos and video for use on social media.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Education or background in digital media, advertising, promotions or marketing.
- A creative mindset with the ability to generate new content ideas that will engage a diverse audience.
- Basic knowledge of photo and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop, or similar).
