A new volunteer is wanted to help with craft activities taking place in one of our Social Wellness Centres which provide a day programme for elderly folk who are cared for at home, giving families some respite from their responsibilities. Crafts are generally quite simple e.g. beading, papercraft and glueing, making pom poms. All materials are supplied by Anglicare and your ideas and input are very welcome especially if you have a lot of experience with craft!

The role would include assisting staff with craft activities, encouraging creativity, and having a good chat with participants as you build relationships. Most of those who visit the centre live with some degree of dementia so you will need to be a person who is patient and gentle when memories are failing, but you'll have a lot of fun in the process.
