The Project Support Volunteer will assist our Project Manager and team in the planning, execution, and monitoring of various projects. About Volunteering Queensland

Volunteering Queensland is the lead voice for volunteering in Queensland. Our work is vital to ensure volunteer involving organisations can engage, manage, and retain a strong, effective volunteer workforce.

About the Position

In this position you will:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Support the coordination of project activities and resources.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders to gather information and confirm participation.
  • Participate in project team meetings and take minutes.
  • Respond to email and phone enquiries, helping to link potential volunteers with an ambassador in their region or providing general support around how to find volunteering opportunities.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed.

This role will also build and strengthen your:

  • Organisational skills through managing project documentation, coordinating resources, and scheduling meetings.
  • Communication skills by interacting with stakeholders, responding to enquiries, and linking potential volunteers with local ambassadors.
  • Team collaboration through working closely with a dynamic team to achieve project goals.
  • Technical proficiency by gaining hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools and potentially project management software.
  • Understanding of volunteering by deepening your knowledge of community service and its positive impact.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in project management or a related field is a plus.
  • Passion for volunteering and community service.
