Racial Justice Centre (RJC)

**Key Responsibilities: **

Develop and maintain responsive websites and web applications that are accessible and user-friendly.

Implement website content updates in collaboration with the communications team to ensure that current issues and campaigns are prominently featured.

Code and deploy applications in a cross-platform, cross-browser environment.

Follow and advocate for best practices in web security, particularly in protecting sensitive user data.

Document the development process, code, and innovations as part of our commitment to transparency and collaboration in the tech community.

Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the digital tools we develop serve the needs of the community effectively.

Support and collaborate with non-technical team members to help them understand the technical solutions and strategies.

Deliverables:

Regular updates to the Centre’s website to ensure timeliness and relevance of content and design.

Development of interactive elements that engage users and promote the Centre’s initiatives.

Optimisation of applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Consistent application of the Centre’s brand across all digital platforms.

**Qualifications: **

Bachelor’s degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with web development frameworks (such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar CMS platforms).

Knowledge of website optimisation, SEO, and security practices.

Ability to work independently.

Familiarity with graphic design and digital marketing principles is a plus.

Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment.
