Overview
Out for Australia is looking for Non-Executive Directors to join the Out for Australia Board. This role is an unpaid Board position and the minimum length of term is 3 years. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving the lives of aspiring professionals in the LGBTQIA+ community by being an active role model and mentor for our volunteers.
The Non-Executive Director will have the same duties and responsibilities as other Director roles, but add value through professional skills that will compliment the current skills of the Board Directors. The Non-Executive Director will also provide greater insights to decision making through a diverse lived experience. This role is an unpaid position and the length of term is expected to be 3 years.
Responsibilities:
- Passion and Proactive Support for our cause Assistance in shaping and advocating Out for Australia’s vision, mission and values.
- Strategic Expertise Ability to differentiate between strategic and operational matters and to review the strategy constructively and openly to ensure effective decision making.
- Operational Analysis Ability to critically review management processes, highlight strengths and find areas that need improvement.
- Governance Awareness Ensure that corporate governance processes are followed with integrity.
- Financial Review, analyse and approve budgets and large capital expenditure decisions.
- Risk Management Ensure robust risk management frameworks are in place for the organisation.
- CEO Management and Recruitment Assist the Board in appointing, empowering, managing and (if required) recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer, or other board directors.
- Commitment to Mentoring In line with our mission, the Non-Executive Director will be committed to being a visible role model by mentoring at least 1 person throughout their term.
