The Industry Genomics Network Alliance (InGeNA) is Australia’s peak body for genomics and personalised healthcare, bringing together industry leaders across diagnostics, therapeutics, software, data, and analytics. Our members range from large multinationals to innovative startups, all working to accelerate the adoption of genomics and ensure it is embedded in Australia’s health system. InGeNA Ltd was incorporated in 2023 (established in 2020) as a charitable not-for-profit entity,
The Board is seeking to appoint an Independent Chair and an Independent Director to work with one other independent and four member elected directors. These roles steer InGeNA to deliver on its purpose and strategic plan accelerating member value and sector influence.
Independent Chair
The role of the Chair is to foster the ongoing development and governance of strategic relationships, advocate for policy changes that drive genomics adoption and access, Board leadership, and work with the CEO in representing InGeNA to its partners, stakeholders and the community.
The role of the Chair becomes vacant in December, creating an exciting opportunity for a Board Director passionate about advancing the potential of genomics in advancing precision healthcare.
We are looking for an experienced Board Director with a demonstrated understanding of the strategic, fiduciary and governance responsibilities associated with chairing a not-for-profit charitable organisation with the following skillset and experience:
Independent, with no current employment arrangement with any current or potential Member organisations. This does not preclude candidates with previous employment arrangements with Member organisations where there is no ongoing actual, potential or perceived conflict.
Deep understanding of the whole Australian health system and where genomics does and could impact, along with the challenges and potential barriers to adoption.
Strong advocacy and government relations experience.
Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including Government, partners and Members.
Experience in working with government, Federal and State, and providing guidance on policy settings.
Experience with Member organisations and delivering value for members.
Tertiary qualifications and management experience in health, medical science and/or biology or related fields.
AICD fellowship/membership.
Independent Director
An additional Independent Director role is being appointed to the Board in accordance with the InGeNA Constitution. The role of Independent Directors on the Board is to provide governance oversight and leadership and strengthen our governance processes by providing an objective voice independent to our members.
We are looking for an experienced Board Director with a demonstrated understanding of the strategic, fiduciary and governance responsibilities associated with being a Director a not-for-profit charitable organisation with the following skillset and experience
