Women's and Children's Health NetworkThe PCEC provides a supportive environment that facilitates and promotes ethical discussion and resolution of ethical issues with a view to enhancing decision making and promoting robust ethical outcomes for patients and families. There are up to 6 regular meetings of the committee each year and at times extraordinary meetings to discuss referred cases.
The Committee meets to discuss referrals from clinical/treating members where there is an ethical question around treatment.
You You will need to:
- Ensure that information obtained through the course of your duties is kept confidential and not discussed unless required to in the course of your duties or as required by Law.
- The ability to attend and participate in at least 80% of scheduled meetings if a full member (less for proxy member).
- Be able to contribute (from your perspective) to discussions at meetings where a range of persons will be present both junior and senior healthcare and other institutional staff.
