Committee member, Lawyer (proxy) on the WCHN Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC)
Women's and Children's Health NetworkThe current vacancy is for a Proxy Lawyer member (may or may not be currently practicing and should preferably not be associated with the WCHN) to cover periods of leave of the current incumbent with the possibility of full membership (in the same category) being offered in the future.
You will need to:
- Ensure that information obtained through the course of your duties is kept confidential and not discussed unless required to in the course of your duties or as required by Law. The ability to attend and participate in at least 80% of scheduled meetings if a full member (less for proxy member). Be able to contribute (from your perspective) to discussions at meetings where a range of persons will be present both junior and senior healthcare and other institutional staff.
The Committee meets each month apart from January. Meetings are held remotely via MS Teams on the third Wednesday of each month and can take up to 3 hours. Pre-reading of research applications and other associated documents is required. Applicants would need to have a laptop or similar device and the capacity to access meeting documents via a secure on-line platform.
