We are looking for a kind, warm and patient volunteer to connect with an elderly gentleman in an aged care home in Glen Waverley. With a Scottish heritage and Anglican faith, this quietly-spoken man enjoys talking about life in his homeland. To feel close to others, he enjoys holding hands as he is a gentle speaker.

Patience and kindness is required for this man, as he is quietly spoken and has difficulty hearing, but believe there could be a rewarding friendship for a compassionate person.

If you have an hour a fortnight spare, that's all that needed to connect with an older person in your community that might be feeling a lonely and isolated, and we'd love to hear from you!

MS Plus is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music, dabble in arts, play a board game or anything else of interest. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

Our volunteers are warm, caring, reliable people who are willing to commit to 1hr fortnightly visits at minimum (weekly is best) for a minimum of 6 months/ongoing.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, but must be over 18+ yrs old.
