**Context & Purpose of Role **

Ondru has been developing Nūl over the past year as a major place-based community building initiative in Sri Lanka, focusing on empowering marginalised communities through educational, economic and social initiatives. As we move forward towards the next stages of implementation, including a targeted start date of 1 July 2025, we seek dedicated Copywriter/Marketing Coordinator to support our efforts. A key component of our upcoming activities is to develop content for our new project website and promoting Peace Ride 2025—a 1,000-kilometre cycling journey across Sri Lanka to raise funds and awareness.

The Copywriter/Marketing Coordinator join the team of 16 and will play a crucial role in supporting the Nūl project’s objectives, which include addressing historical inequalities, fostering long-term resilience, and promoting community-driven development. By engaging in content writing and marketing related activities, you will contribute to the overall impact of Nūl, enhancing its capacity to create transformative opportunities for communities affected by conflict and socio-economic challenges.

**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities ** The position is responsible for:

**Content Development: **Write and edit content for Nūl’s new project website, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and branding.

**Marketing & Promotions: **Develop and implement promotional strategies for Peace Ride 2025, engaging cyclists, sponsors, and the wider community.

**Social Media & Digital Engagement: **Create and manage content across digital platforms to build awareness and engagement with Nūl’s initiatives.

**Fundraising & Sponsorship Support: **Assist in crafting campaign messaging to attract donors and corporate sponsors for Peace Ride 2025 and other fundraising efforts.

**Stakeholder Communication: **Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment in messaging and outreach efforts.

**Event Support: **Assist in promotional activities, logistics coordination, and community engagement strategies for Peace Ride 2025 and other Nūl initiatives.

**Key Selection Criteria **

  • A passion for people and a strong commitment to the purpose and values of Ondru.

  • Demonstrated sound experience in copywriting and marketing & communications;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive, “hands-on” approach with the ability to take initiative and drive results.

  • High levels of personal and professional integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

  • Proficient in computer literacy, with access to your own laptop.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience ** To be successful in this position it is preferred that you have:

  • Tertiary qualification (or studying towards one) in relevant field;

  • Open-minded with a willingness to challenge your own thinking and have the ability to adapt and be flexible to the changing needs of the organisation;

  • Be committed to working in a team environment while promoting respect, inclusivity and collaboration; and

  • Be hardworking, hands on, energetic and vibrant.
