Volunteer Bus Assistant

South West Community Transport

Are you in a position to give back to your community? Do you have some spare time during the week and keen to get out and help others? South West Community Transport are looking for volunteer bus assistants to join our team. As a Volunteer Bus Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our clients. Working alongside our friendly drivers, you’ll assist clients with boarding and exiting the bus, and provide general support to ensure a smooth, enjoyable trip for all. South West Community Transport provides transport services to the elderly 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders), registered NDIS clients, carers and people who may be transport disadvantaged. The areas we cover include Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee LGA's. SWCT are seeking friendly, enthusiastic individuals who want to give back to their community and volunteer their time as a Volunteer Bus Assistant. The purpose of this position is to:

  • Provide assistance to clients accessing the vehicle and ensure safe delivery into the facility they are attending or to their own home
  • Ensure all passengers travel comfortably and safely between destinations To be considered for this position you will be need:
  • Current Police Check* or willingness to obtain
  • Current Working with Children Check* or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Screener Tool* or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities *Expenses for required certifications/ licences will be reimbursed by SWCT Who we are looking for:
  • Friendly, patient, and caring individuals with good interpersonal skills.
  • No formal qualifications are required, but experience working with the elderly or people with a disability is a bonus.
