Scout Leaders - Broken Bay Scout Group

Broken Bay Scout Group

Broken Bay Scout Group is one of the largest groups in the Gosford District, with halls based in Ettalong and Umina- it is a fun-filled, action packed, family orientated group. We help young people to grow and develop skills for life! They get to make lasting friendships through active, healthy, unique and fun adventures.

We are looking for leaders to come on board- no previous scouting skills or experience is required. What we are asking is you assist with organising activities, that you share your knowledge, any skills and abilities with our young people.

We provide hands-on mentoring, our time and our friendship. It is a fulfilling role, and having this type of volunteer experience can help with future employment/job opportunities and with education such as Cert. IV in Leadership and Management etc. Adding to this there are other incentives- we fully pay for any training, uniform, camps that leaders wish to attend and provide a discounted fee for each child or grandchild you have active within the group. 90% of your training will be online learning- there is no cost involved in becoming a leader.

No age barriers, if you are an adult and can carry out the role, then you are eligible, and we’d love to have a chat!

So if you have an extra couple of hours to put aside each week of the school term and if you enjoy passing on your skills to children, have the patience, don’t mind a bit of paperwork and like having fun, then we will strive to create a role here for you! Activities could include- arts and crafts, hiking, singing around a campfire, giving service to the community, camping, archery, canoeing.

The satisfaction is immense, and the pride is unsurpassable!! You will require a WWCC (working with children check) and a Police check.

If you are unsure as to what being a leader entails, then you’re welcome to come as a registered adult helper and find out for yourself. We have vacancies in every section - so if you are interested in being a scout leader or an adult or youth helper, contact us now!
