RALLY4EVER is a not for profit organization that currently runs 40 ongoing community tennis programs across Australia, averaging 40 weeks, reaching over 12000 participants across the country. We would love your help to expand this further and help more people in our community through the fun and connection of tennis and the importance of exercise and social interaction. Community is at the core of what we do! We are breaking down barriers and connecting our communities to the game of tennis, bringing people together from diverse backgrounds, ages and abilities. Our tennis programs are purpose-built for and designed to get people moving again and form friendships and meaningful social connections along the way. All fitness levels are welcome and no tennis experience is necessary to attend. Loneliness is experienced by more than 1 in 4 of Australians. 1 in 5 people experience a mental health condition each year and 45% of Australians will experience a mental health condition in a lifetime. Loneliness is a silent killer: Lonely people have a 26% increased risk of death. The impacts of loneliness are equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes or having six alcoholic drinks per day. POSITION – GRANTS WRITER Duties: undertake research into possible local, state and commonwealth, trust and foundations, sporting body and philanthropic sources for possible grants that RALLY4EVER could apply for prepare and submit grant applications addressing specified requirements, liaise with RALLY4EVER volunteers to prepare and submit acquittal reports where required by specific grants, write letters of introduction, thank you letters and short reports on grant funded projects, maintain ongoing relationships with funders and philanthropic organizations, liaise with program managers to share information and provide pro forma material to assist them applying for local grants TIMEFRAME & WORKPLACE The position is flexible and will vary with time. It is estimated that duties would average to half a day per week and could be undertaken on one or two days a week. It is a work from home situation. EXPERIENCE / SKILLS The position requires someone with good communication skills (both oral and written) who is used to liaising with a wide variety of people – other volunteers, benevolent organizations, sporting bodies, local councils and corporates. RALLY4EVER uses Google Workspace, Xero, Hubspot and Canva.
