Supportive Care and Palliative Care Volunteers
You will enrich people’s lives by offering some normality, someone understanding to talk to, or giving the family carers a break. Offering a hand massage, a chance to talk about the good times, or to express their worries in a safe place.
You will be given training, ongoing education and mentoring to also help you provide the valuable service that is much appreciated in your community. This can be a pathway for getting experience for those wanting to work in healthcare or community services.
You can visit people in their own home in the community, or at Nepean or Hawkesbury Hospital and in the future at the Palliative Care Unit at Nepean Hospital.
