About the role
This is an exciting volunteer role that will work alongside an existing committed, community focused team. The team is responsible for supporting people affected by cancer through the provision of valuable information and connecting them with a range of the CCNSW’s support services.
Reporting to Jay Richardson, Community Coordinator, the position of Cancer Council Information Service Volunteer will:
- Staff the Cancer Council’s monthly information stand at the North Coast Cancer Institute in Lismore;
- Share information about the Cancer Council supports services; and,
- Distribution a range of valuable paper-based resources and fact sheets.
- In this role, you will be required to volunteer one day a month on an ongoing basis.
** A normal day volunteering**
- Setting up and packing down the information stand.
- Communicating with patients and carers attending treatment appointments.
- Providing information to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborating with other volunteers staffing the information stand.

- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Desire to work with and help others.
- Willingness to learn about CCNSW services and services.
