About this opportunity

Founded in 2022, Raising Minds is a Queensland not-for-profit organisation established and operated by people with a lived experience of caring for a child or young person with complex mental health challenges.

Raising Minds is now in an early growth phase after winning Commonwealth Government grant funding to deliver carer advocacy workshops across Queensland.

Our purpose is to advocate for children, young people with complex mental health issues together with their families, parents, carers and kin, to create inclusive, responsive, and better-quality health and education systems.

We achieve our purpose by:

• Advocating for the rights, needs, and lived experience of children and young people experiencing mental illness throughout Queensland. • Assisting families to better navigate service systems by providing regularly updated, relevant & helpful information and resources on mental health including supports, services, and education. • Proposing new innovative models of service with the aim to strengthen the capacity of children and young people, together with their families and carers, to manage complex mental health episodes.

About you You're an organised, collaborative and motivated professional with experience in finance or accounting.

You have experience navigating not-for-profit business growth including capacity building, strategic direction and governance.

You have capacity (a few hours a month) to be hands-on with duties including liaison with the CEO and Business Manager, overseeing financial reporting to the Board, and providing advice on financial governance and management.
