Mobile Animal Care (MAC) Truck Driver
This volunteer role may undertake the following activities:
- Driving the Mobile Animal Care Clinic (MAC) to allocated destinations within metro Melbourne and regional Victoria.
- Assist with loading and unloading the vehicle
- Set-up the vehicle for the event, and pack up at the conclusion of the event
- Cleaning the vehicle after use
Drivers are to report any vehicles issues or maintenance needs to the Fleet team asap.
To be successful in this role, the volunteer will possess the following skills and attributes:
Essential:
- A current full driving license
- A current truck driving license (Class 2 Heavy Vehicle)
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow oral and written instructions carefully
- Strong communication skills and a love for engaging with people and animals
- The ability to work effectively in a team, while working independently
- A good level of general fitness; able to lift at least 10kg
- As this role is either a set day and/or is on an on-call basis, both flexibility and availability are required for short (2-3 hour) and long trips (8 hours). Overnight stays may be required from time to time
Desirable:
- Experience/ability to tow a trailer/drive small van
