Context of the Role

As we continue to expand our impact and develop innovative projects, we are seeking a skilled and committed Funding Coordinator. This role will be instrumental in supporting our organisational growth by sourcing and coordinating various funding opportunities, including grants, memberships, donations, sponsorships, and merchandise sales. The successful candidate will help sustain and build upon our existing funding relationships while ensuring compliance and maintaining strong partnerships.

About Us

Ondru (Tamil; ஒன்று) n. one, equality; v. become one with. Ondru is a place where people and ideas come together; where diversity unites. Ondru is a Melbourne-based, non-profit humanitarian organisation dedicated to creating a more compassionate, connected, and equitable society. We recognise that many communities—especially those who are displaced, marginalised, and disenfranchised—face significant barriers to equitable opportunities, representation, and social inclusion. Through pioneering art projects, Ondru provides a powerful platform for these communities to share their stories, experiences, and voices. Our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of the human condition, inspire meaningful discussion, and enable reconciliation.

By engaging with art, we encourage personal reflection, provoke dialogue, and mobilise support for the communities we serve. Although based in Melbourne, we have conducted our works in Sydney, New Zealand, Europe, Sri Lanka and Africa, and are always exploring new possibilities. Our most known project is Voiceless Journeys, an art project that aims to celebrate cultural diversity and raise awareness about the journey, struggle, survival and achievements of people from diverse backgrounds – people who were impacted by displacement.

Our Values

  • Courage: to face challenges with honesty and bravery
  • Integrity: never ever compromise on our moral principles
  • Respect: always treat ourselves and others with dignity and compassion
  • Community: recognise that we are always more effective together and to strive for the betterment of community
  • Originality: to be pioneers in our work and to strive for the extraordinary
