Position Overview
ChildFund Australia is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic student intern to support our philanthropy team for a short-term role. This unpaid internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the non-profit sector, focusing on philanthropy and fundraising initiatives that drive our mission to help children in poverty.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners. Gather and analyse data to identify new philanthropic prospects.
- Manage documentation related to philanthropy – including donor pitches and tracking communication
- Assisting us to build relationships with individual donors, foundations and trusts
- Maintain and update donor and funding opportunity information within database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor information and engagement.
- Provide support to Philanthropy Executives, including managing meeting notes, preparing materials, and managing documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information and present findings effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for ChildFund Australia's mission and a desire to contribute to meaningful change for children and communities

Note: The internship is unpaid and will predominantly be required to be in the office in order to support the broader team and gain further experience in a professional setting. We are anticipating approximately 6 hours a week, over 2 days, however we are open to what the arrangement could look like depending on the individual's current study schedule. Open to any start date but ideally soon!
