Nature Play QLD is a 10 year old Statewide program dedicated to ensuring every Queensland child has access to outdoor play every day. Importantly our mission is to ensure that Queensland Children are provided with connections through play, to the natural world that supports their physical and mental health, increases and improves their resilience, creativity, emotional intelligence, physical literacy and ensures they have a healthy relationship with the environment that will last a lifetime. . Nature Play QLD believes that a healthy world comes when children have a complete and balanced childhood incorporating free outdoor play. NPQ supports children and nature play through grass roots leadership, training, nature play space design and development, participation programs, advocacy, consultancy and provision of resources. A wide range of resources have been created and made available to families, communities, teachers and educators all over Queensland After 18 months of major change and development, NPQ is now heading into a new era by becoming an independent incorporated organisation. NPQ is now seeking an inaugural Management Committee that has a wide range of skills and a passion for the voluntary and not for profit sector. Experience with children, nature play and outdoor learning is not necessary particularly if your Board and Governance experience is complimentary to the needs of NPQ. Until such time as NPQ is able to afford to hire staff, the Board will play an active role in undertaking both strategic and operational tasks of the organisation. We are looking for people with skills in governance of not-for-profit organisations, membership and partner development, business development, financial management, strategic planning, policy development, risk management, organisational sustainability, grant writing and fundraising. We are keen to have a board which has a diverse range of skills who can help Nature Play QLD grow and flourish over the next 10 years. The Nature Play QLD Management Committee (Board) will work together as a single decision making entity for the organisation with all, if not most, decisions made at a Board level. NPQ Board Positions Available Nature Play QLD Chair will be responsible for leading the Board and the organisation, ensuring effective governance, and representing Nature Play QLD publicly. They will facilitate meetings, strategic planning and will take an active role in keeping the activities of the organisation going. Deputy Chair will support the Chair, assume their duties in their absence, and assist in strategic and governance matters. They will provide additional leadership and representation as needed. Company Secretary will ensure accurate record-keeping of board meetings, manage official processes and documentation, manage the membership program, manage emails and correspondence, and organise all meeting agendas and materials. The Treasurer will oversee the financial management of the organisation, maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, facilitate budgeting and financial planning processes, ensure compliance with financial regulations, manage invoices, income, banking, tax, and HR payments. The Business Development Lead will develop and implement fundraising strategies, business opportunities and pursues grant opportunities, cultivate donor/sponsor relationships, organise fundraising events and campaigns The Communications and Marketing Lead will develop communication plans, foster PR, ensure consistent branding and messaging, oversee the website and social media, create promotional materials and online content, and engages with stakeholders and the community. *The Programs and Partnerships Lead will oversee program implementation and resource development, foster partnerships and monitor program effectiveness

As a committee member you would be required to abide by the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commissions Governance Standards. NPQ will hold Company Director Insurance.
