Humanists Australia LtdWhen you volunteer at Humanists Australia, you are contributing to an important cause - helping people lead compassionate, ethical and fulfilling lives without religion. As our eNewsletter Editor, you’ll be delivering an engaging and visually appealing newsletter filled with content about our programs and other topics of interest to humanists, to our members and subscribers on a regular basis.
Key duties
- Collect suggested items of content from other volunteers, and conduct research to identify others.
- Pull the information together into an appealing, on brand format.
- Write content for the news blog on our website to link from the newsletter.
- Send the newsletter to members and subscribers on an agreed schedule.
- Meet online with the CEO and other team members to discuss issues as they arise.
- Contribute ideas about any of our programs in online discussions with other team members.
Skills required
- Experience with producing a quality digital newsletter for a not-for-profit organisation, an association or a community group.
- Experience with using an email marketing platform such as Mailchimp or Action Network
- Excellent written communication skills
- An eye for graphic design
- Good technical skills. Our technical stack includes Zoom, GSuite (Google Drive and Gmail), Squarespace (or similar) for web resource development, and Slack for instant messaging. Training will be provided as required.

- A laptop or desktop computer
- A good internet connection
