Brighten someone's day and make a meaningful contribution to their quality of life!  We are looking for a special kind of person – a St Vincent’s kind of person. Someone who puts compassion, connection and caring for other people at the heart of everything they do. We’re seeking a dedicated volunteer bus driver who can assist with transportation for elderly residents in our aged care home. Your role will be crucial in helping residents participate in community activities and maintain a connection with the outside world.

The preferred days are Wednesday & Friday afternoons, about 2:00-4:00pm for tea trips/scenic bus outings. Lunch or picnic trips would be a bit longer from 11:00am to 2:00pm, however, we are always flexible around timing which suits our volunteer.

You’ll be driving a 10 seater bus with manual transmission, which requires a standard driver's licence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive residents to and from scheduled activities and special outings
  • Ensure safe and comfortable transportation for all passengers
  • Assist residents with boarding and disembarking as needed
  • Foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere during trips

Why Volunteer? Your driving skills can make a significant difference by helping elderly residents stay engaged with their community and enjoy various activities. By volunteering your time you’ll contribute to their overall well-being and provide them with valuable opportunities for social interaction and enjoyment.

We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced drivers who can safely transport elderly residents
  • Individuals with good communication skills and a caring attitude
  • Reliable and punctual volunteers who can create a comfortable and welcoming environment

Benefits:

  • Play a crucial role in helping residents engage with their community
  • Provide valuable assistance and support during transportation
