HR Team Leader

About Us
Furry Friends Animal Rescue Organisation QLD is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes animal welfare by providing temporary foster homes for homeless pets, adopting them to good homes and reducing overpopulation through the desexing of all animals.
Instead of the traditional animal shelter model, Furry Friends operates remotely, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Presidents to develop and implement an HR strategy for FFARQ
- Lead and inspire the HR volunteer team
- Oversee the recruitment of volunteers
- Induct and train volunteers
- Lead fortnightly online team meetings
- Identify opportunities for, and implement, continuous process improvements
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Produce and present reports to Executive Committee
As this role is primarily virtual or home-based, you will need (at your own expense):
- Reliable mobile phone
- Reliable internet and antivirus
- Facebook account
Key Experience and Skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills, keen attention to detail, and be self-motivated.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse, plan and implement strategic HR programs
- Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achievement of goals and create a positive team culture.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve and implement solutions
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work collaboratively within a “virtual” team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally, Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
