About Us

Furry Friends Animal Rescue Organisation QLD is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes animal welfare by providing temporary foster homes for homeless pets, adopting them to good homes and reducing overpopulation through the desexing of all animals.

Instead of the traditional animal shelter model, Furry Friends operates remotely, with animals being carefully placed with volunteer Foster Carers until they are adopted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment of volunteers
  • Conduct onboarding tasks and support volunteers through the process
  • Lead weekly online team meetings and write accurate minutes noting task allocations
  • Lead and inspire a team of HR volunteers to deliver on challenging HR performance targets
  • Report monthly simple KPI's
  • Identify opportunities for, and implement, continuous process improvements
  • Draft ads for new roles and write new ads into our recruitment portal.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Create a roster for HR team members to ensure timely responses to emails
  • Support team members through entire HR process from EOI receipt through to Exits.
  • Coach best behaviour from team members.
  • Use encouraging, direct and honest communication respectfully in all communications.

As this role is primarily virtual or home-based, you will need (at your own expense):

  • Reliable internet and antivirus
  • Facebook account

Key Experience and Skills

  • Proactive and able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ideally, Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
