Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and securing potential sponsors, partners and affiliates. The Business Development Manager will partner with multiple departments to drive measurable results that benefit the Australian Dodgeball Federation.
Responsibilities:
As an ADF representative:
- Operational managers and Board Directors are expected to work together collaboratively to achieve the Board’s purpose outlined in the Strategic Plan and should speak publicly with a single collective voice
- Respect the confidentiality of information and not disclose to any other person confidential information other than as agreed;
- Act as a role model, change agent and professional exemplar in all matters concerning the Australian Dodgeball Federation.
As a Business Development Manager: -Develop, execute, and oversee a business strategy that prioritizes growth and positive Stakeholder ratings; -Promote the federation’s points of value (products or services) to prospective clients; -Participate in collaborative business meetings as needed; -Provide continuous, constructive feedback to the Board of Directors -Interact with potential clients and respond to important inquiries about the company’s products or services
Time commitment Operational managers can expect to spend, on average, two (2) hours per week on related tasks, including writing a monthly update submission to the Board for Board meetings; In addition to the weekly commitments, the annual functions and minimum time commitment are set out below:
- Annual Conference/ AGM: 2 hours each year
- Participation in membership activities outside of meetings (e.g. Awards dinner, championship presentations): Negotiable as required.
Key Performance Indicators
- Reviews are undertaken every year by the Board of Directors to determine overall achievements and ongoing suitability for the role;
- Timely submissions to the Board each month;
- Number of client conversations answered, generated and converted;
- The Australian Dodgeball Federation being regarded by affiliated organisations as well organised, efficient, professional and stakeholder focussed;
- Responsiveness to communication/feedback.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
The Business Development Manager may have one or more of the following qualifications for election or appointment:
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder service, marketing, or a sales-related field and/or sponsorship experience;
- Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques;
- Enthusiasm for the company and its growth potential;
- Exceptional project management skills, organizational skills and -Problem-solving skills;
- Clear verbal and written communication skills;
- Sharp negotiation and networking skills
- Strong administrative skills
