Cultivate Joy: Volunteer to Assist with Gardening Do you have a green thumb and a passion for helping others? We’re seeking dedicated gardening volunteers to join our Coffee & Chat Program, bringing the beauty and benefits of gardening to elderly residents in our aged care home.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with planting, weeding, and maintaining garden spaces
  • Help residents engage in gardening activities, such as planting flowers or vegetables
  • Create a pleasant and therapeutic outdoor environment
  • Share gardening tips and enjoy conversations with residents

Why Volunteer? Gardening is a wonderful way to promote physical activity, mental well-being, and social interaction. By volunteering your gardening skills, you’ll help create vibrant, relaxing spaces that enhance the daily lives of elderly residents and foster a sense of accomplishment.

Program Details:

  • Commitment: Ideally a minimum of 20 gardening sessions per year, ideally one session every two weeks, lasting 1 to 2 hours per session.
  • Requirements: You will be over 18 and willing to pass a National Criminal History Check (provided and paid for) and be consistently available.

  • Volunteers with a passion for gardening and working outdoors
  • Individuals who enjoy engaging with others and sharing gardening knowledge
  • Reliable and punctual volunteers who can create a positive and nurturing environment
