### Key responsibilities: Volunteer recruitment

  • Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers through various channels such as online platforms, community outreach, and partnerships.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts including posting volunteer opportunities, conducting informational sessions, and facilitating interviews.
  • Keep accurate information for each volunteer including signed volunteer agreement and verified WWCC.

Volunteer management

  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to volunteers based on their skills, interests, and availability.
  • Provide orientation and training sessions to familiarise volunteers with NSWFA's goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer information, hours, and activities using appropriate systems or databases.

Support and engagement

  • Offer ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to volunteers to ensure their success and satisfaction in their roles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive volunteer culture by organising recognition events, team-building activities, and opportunities for feedback.
  • Organise training or skills workshops for volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers to make them feel a valued part of the organisation.
  • Recommend to the Board recipients of a ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award.

Communication and collaboration

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries, concerns, and providing timely updates on relevant information.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to integrate volunteer efforts seamlessly into organisational initiatives.

Reporting and evaluation Compile and analyse volunteer data to assess program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and inform strategic decision-making. Prepare regular reports for the board and stakeholders on volunteer engagement, impact, and contributions.

### About you

  • Experience in volunteer coordination, community engagement, or related fields
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Passionate about the goals and values of NSWFA and committed to promoting volunteerism.
  • Knowledge of volunteer management best practices and principles.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe environment for volunteers.
  • WWCC (Working With Children Check).
  • Child protection training or willingness to undertake this – Sport Integrity Australia’s Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction online course.
  • Awareness of the Child Safe Standards.
  • Willing to attend some tournaments at venues in Sydney.

Remuneration This is a volunteer position with no monetary compensation.
